THE INFLUENCE OF SEEDOILS

Seed oils such as soybean, corn, sunflower, and canola oil are rich in polyunsaturated fats, particularly omega 6 linoleic acid. The strongest modern evidence from randomized trials and large cohort studies shows that replacing saturated fats with these oils reduces LDL cholesterol and lowers cardiovascular disease risk. Human biomarker studies do not show that typical seed oil consumption causes chronic inflammation or increases mortality.

Health benefits are observed when seed oils replace saturated fats within balanced diets, not when consumed in ultra processed, calorie dense food patterns. In moderate amounts, and alongside adequate omega 3 intake with minimal repeated high heat frying, they appear safe and likely beneficial.
