VITAMINE D AND ITS INFLUENCE ON MUSCLE, MOOD & IMMUNITY

VITAMINE D AND ITS INFLUENCE ON MUSCLE, MOOD & IMMUNITY

In Belgium and much of Western Europe, winter sun is scarce, and so is natural vitamin D. This isn’t just a vitamin; it’s a hormone that supports muscle strength, brain function, mood, and immunity.

Vitamin D3 is converted in your body to the active hormone calcitriol, which binds to receptors in muscles, the brain, and immune cells. It helps your muscles contract, boosts dopamine and serotonin for better mood, and supports healthy bones and immune defenses. Supplementation in deficient men has even been shown to improve testosterone and muscle function.

Recommended winter dose: 2000–4000 IU/day with a meal containing fat, ideally in the morning or after training. Too much can cause side effects, so stick to the suggested range.

Keep your vitamin D levels up this winter, for stronger muscles, better mood, and a resilient immune system.
